A fly-in fishing trip is the ultimate wilderness escape — a chance to unplug from everyday life and reconnect with nature in the quiet beauty of Northwestern Ontario’s backcountry.

Planning ahead helps ensure you get the most out of your adventure. Below, you’ll find helpful information to prepare for your trip. If you have any questions along the way, we’re always happy to help.

What’s Included With Your Fly-In Fishing Package

We work hard to deliver a high-quality experience at the best value. Every package includes:

Round-Trip Float Plane Transportation

  • Round-trip flight from our base in Nestor Falls to your outpost lake
  • Free, secure vehicle parking at our airbase

Communication & Safety

  • Satellite phone or InReach text communication
  • Friendly, responsive service before, during, and after your trip

Comfortable, Fully Equipped Cabins

Each outpost cabin includes:

  • Hot and cold running water
  • Hot shower
  • Modern kitchen with full-size propane stove/oven
  • Electric refrigerator and freezer
  • Cooking utensils, dishes, pots, pans, and cutlery
  • 110 AC wiring with generator power and electric lighting
  • Bunk beds with quality twin mattresses and pillows
  • Screened-in porch
  • Gas BBQ and propane deep fryer
  • Drinking water provided

Boats & Equipment

  • 14′ or 16′ Lund boats with reliable Yamaha 4-stroke motors
  • Unlimited fuel and propane
  • Lake maps
  • Bait buckets, landing nets, and boat cushions
  • XL adult life jackets

What to Bring

When packing for a fly-in trip, less is more. Float planes have limited space, and weight restrictions are strict.

Maximum baggage allowance: 100 lbs per person. There is a $1 per pound fee for gear that is over 100 lbs. 

We’ll send you a detailed packing list after you confirm your booking, but here are the essentials:

Clothing & Personal Items

  • Warm clothing (layers work best)
  • Quality rain gear
  • Sleeping bag or twin sheets, blanket, and pillowcase
  • Personal toiletries and medications
  • Sunscreen and insect repellent

Fishing Gear

  • Rods and tackle
  • Stringers and fillet knife
  • Portable depth finder
  • Ontario Fishing License and Outdoors Card

Food & Camp Supplies

  • Groceries and beverages (cans only)
  • Coolers and ice
  • Paper towels and toilet paper
  • Tin foil, dish soap, and garbage bags

Other Recommended Items

  • Flashlight or headlamp with extra batteries
  • Camera or phone charger
  • Waterproof matches or lighter
  • CPAP equipment and battery packs, as required
  • Passport (required for U.S. visitors)

Flying in commercially?

If you’re travelling by commercial airline, we can help simplify your trip planning.

We can assist with:

  • Linen packages
  • Coolers
  • Grocery pre-orders

Your supplies will be ready and waiting at the dock the morning of your flight.

Please contact us at least two weeks before your trip to make arrangements.

Travel & Border Information

  • COVID-19 vaccination is not required to enter Canada
  • Criminal records, including DUI convictions, may affect entry into Canada
  • Please check border eligibility requirements before travelling
