Norse Lake is a prime Canadian fly-in fishing destination where you’ll find excellent sport fishing for walleye, northern pike and smallmouth bass. Large schools of walleye average 1-3 lbs. with 4-10 lb. trophies caught every season. Additionally, the lake is home to a strong population of northern pike with trophies reaching up to and over 40 inches every season. Guests also enjoy the smallmouth bass action with catches reaching up to the 5 lb. class.
You can take advantage of excellent fishing no matter the weather since the lake is protected by a high hills keeping it relatively calm, even on windy days. And, you’ll find 16-foot Lunds with swivel seats and new Yamaha motors to easily get you around the lake.
Additionally, you can take the portage trail along a beautiful rapids into Little Norse Lake. The lake is teeming with even more walleye, smallmouth and pike. All you need to take with you is your fishing gear since the boat and motor are waiting for you.
The Cabin
Finally, topping off this great lake is the deluxe two-bedroom cottage that boasts panoramic lake views. It has a well-stocked modern kitchen with hot and cold running water, a shower, a cathedral ceiling with skylights in the living area, and a large screened-in porch. Light a fire in the wood stove to keep the cabin toasty on cool nights.
You can use the propane barbeque and fish cooker to cook your day’s catch, and sit around one of the two camp fire pits to talk about your adventures. Guests frequently get to enjoy the northern lights from the large deck which overlooks the lake for two miles. The cabin is an ideal fishing retreat for groups of two to six people.
